Objectives

General objective:

After completing this module, the student/applicant will be able to:
- know and explain the main concepts of human factors.
- explain how Human Factors are applied to the engineering and operation of avionics systems.

Detailed objectives:

After completing this module, the student/applicant will be able to:
- explain how operators process and memorize information and define their physiological limits
- identify what causes stress and what are the consequences on operator performance
- identify what causes fatigue what are the consequences on operator performance
- understand regulations concerning the HF
- describe the way in which such regulations are implemented
- define place and role of the operator within automatic systems
- define the impact of automation on operator performance
- describe human factors approaches in cockpit design
- describe human factors approaches in representative industrial development processes
