Objectives

General objective:

After completing this module, the student/applicant will be able to:
- Describe and/or Explain the approach to comply with safety regulatory requirements for the achievement of safety studies
- Describe and Explain the various steps of the safety assessment process
Apply the Safety Assessment Methodology (SAM) on a case study

Detailed objectives:

After completing this module, the student/applicant will be able to:
- Memorize safety regulations
- Explain the overall safety assessment process and its relationships with risk assessment and mitigation
- Explain interactions between safety assessment process and system engineering processes
- Explain how to conduct and to undertake a safety assessment process (safety methodology)
- Explain how to perform safety studies that are part of the process (FHA, PSSA, SSA, Safety Case, EPIS)
- Name / List the content of safety studies of ATM changes
