Objectives

General objective:

After completing this module, the student/applicant will be able to:
- Explain and describe advanced surveillance systems technologies used by civil aviation, from a technical and operational view, as well as to introduce emerging technologies

Detailed objectives:

After completing this module, the student/applicant will be able to:
- Explain and describe the Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) Mode S from a deeper technical and operational view, in comparison to Overview CNS
- Explain and describe ADS-B out from a deeper technical view, in comparison to Overview CNS
- Explain and describe Multilateration (MLAT) from a deeper technical view, in comparison to Overview CNS
- Explain and describe Multistatic Primary Surveillance Rada (MSPSR)
- Describe emerging technologies such as global surveillance
- Describe and explain TCAS and ASAS (ADS-B in) from a deeper technical view, in comparison to Overview CNS
