RG604E - Certification Procedures

Objectives

General objective:

After completing this module, the student will be able to describe international regulations and concepts and in particular how ICAO Airworthiness principles are implemented in EU.
He will be able to explain the basic principles used to guarantee the highest level of safety for Air Transport and why Aircraft are certified before they are allowed to fly.
Finally he will able to apply on a real case all those certification procedures to issue a certificate of Airworthiness to an aircraft, even through validation in foreign countries.

Detailed objectives:

After completing this module, the student will be able to :
- Describe International ICAO Principles for Aircraft Airworthiness,
- Define how EU has implemented those principles,
- Explain how Aviation Safety is insured and continuously monitored,
- Define what is an Type Certification (TC) process including the validation in foreign countries for any kind of Products, parts and appliances,
- Described how is done the manufacturer’s demonstration of capability to Design Aircraft in compliance with the requirements by holding a Design Organisation Approval (DOA) with associated privileges
- Understand how is done the manufacturer’s demonstration of capability to Produce Aircraft in conformity with approved design by holding a Production Organisation Approval (POA) with associated privileges
- Describe the issuance of Individual Aircraft Certificate of Airworthiness and Airworthiness release documents.
