Objectives

General objective:

After completing this module, the student will be able to:
work in teams on SMS development, implementation, assessment and maintaining for a training organisation, covering training content, methods and practices, taking into account the regulatory requirements, including instructor/assessor/examiner requirements.

Detailed objectives:

After completing this module, the student will be able to:
- Review and identify aviation stakeholders
- Examine their needs for proactive safety management
- Demonstrate how an SMS meets not just the operational needs of a company, but also the business and regulatory needs
- Understand and explain how human behaviour influences safety and how humans interact with their environment
- Describe how safety management systems have evolved because of an enhanced understanding of accident causation
- Demonstrate how to inform and update senior manager’s knowledge of an organisation’s SMS
