AV4007 - Cockpit environment of a modern transport aircraft

Objectives

General objective:

Obtain general knowledge of architecture, functions and interfaces of avionic systems of a modern transport aircraft.

Detailed objectives:

Know to describe:
-cockpit;
-instrumentation (PED, ND)
-Overhead systems panel
-Flight commands: fly-by-fire, autopilot/flight director;
-Flying model simulator;
-communication systems: radio management panel;
-surveillance systems: weather radar, traffic collision avoidance system, Terrain Awareness and Warning System;
-surveillance system “aircraft”: ECAM;
-Inflight entertainment;
-others (to define).
Flight simulator illustrations: in a cockpit simulator know the cockpit layout, be able to name board instruments and piloting interfaces, understand operational aspects.
In FMS be able to name flight management interfaces, understand major functionalities of FMS.
