EA4004 - Airport Design and Planning

Objectives

General objective:

At the end of the course, the student shall be able to:
- specify all component of an airport system,
-describe its funtionning and the relations between the different components.

Detailed objectives:

At the end of the course, the student shall be able to:
- identify and, based on a given reference documentation, correctly assess and specify the following airport infrastructures taking into account forecast traffic and local conditions:
- Movement areas and associated protections,
- Helistations,
- Airport Buildings.
- explain the safety objectives of the constitutive elements of a movement area,
- identify the factors influencing airport capacity,
- criticise a traffic forecast.
