Objectives

General objective:

After completing this module, the student will be able to :
- understand the financial aspects of airport management
- use a set of the main concepts and tools to deal with the financial aspects of the airport management

Detailed objectives:

After completing this module, the student will be able to :
- describe airports international economic situation from a financial perspective to facilitate business planning and financial forecasting
- apply key accounting principles to airports
- use the basic tools and notions of financial statement analysis to airport management including jargon and ratio analysis
- identify accounting difficulties
- value an airport
- measure financial performance and value creation and to link them to airport business drivers
- Assess basically the profit and the valuation of an airport operating company
- Explain an airport business plan
- Explain the main drivers of airport financing policy
- Describe the principle of airport revenue segmentation, of airport economic regulation and of airport pricing and the drivers of the single or dual till concept
- Apply balanced score cards to airport managerial accounting
