Objectives

General objective:

After completing this module, the student will be able to :
- acquire the financial skills needed as an airport manager,
- learn how to build an airport’s financial business plan,
- understand airport’s financial value and why they are attractive to financial investors.

Detailed objectives:

After completing this module, the student will be able to :
- acquire the financial skills needed as an airport manager: what is Finance? What is the role of the finance function? How to read and understand financial statements? How are investment decisions made?
- learn how to build an airport’s financial business plan: what are an airport’s main sources of income? What drives an airport’s expenditures Costs (Opex) and Investments (Capex)? How to link financial and business decisions?
- understand airport’s financial value and why they are attractive to financial investors: How are companies valued and airports in particular? Why are financial investors interested in airports?
