RG6001E - Regulatory framework
Objectives
General objective:
After completing this module, the student will be able to:
- Describe the regulatory framework applicable to the avionics, ATM, CNS-GNSS activities
- Explain the role and responsibilities of the different actors which are implied in this regulatory process, and describe the interactions / synergies between these actors.
Detailed objectives:
After completing this module, the student will be able to:
- Describe the role, responsibilities and activities of the main international regulatory bodies (ICAO, EASA) and explain how their regulations are structured
- Quote the main organisms in charge of aviation standards (EUROCAE, RTCA, SAE), describe their role and explain how these actors interact with international regulatory bodies
- State the ANS safety regulations, describe their overall content and their links, and explain these regulations are taken into account in Europe
- Describe how avionics / ATM / communication and navigation equipment and instruments are approved, operated and maintained.
