Objectives

General objective:

After completing this module, the student will be able to :
· Describe the different types of air passenger terminals, taking into account the process of passengers and their baggage, and all specific systems
· Analyse the design of passenger terminal and the needs for future requirements

Detailed objectives:

After completing this module, the student will be able to :
- Evaluate the different concept of airport terminals
- Explain the sizing of airport terminals
- Explain their main characteristics and functions
- Describe the major flows and anticipate their evolution
- Determine the key factors impacting passenger terminal capacity, the level of service for passengers and the size of each area in terminals
- Describe the different specific airport systems (baggage systems, security systems, apron equipment, IT and communication systems)
- Anticipate the future trends in airport terminals
- Compare different design projects of a passenger terminal
- Highlight the major actors of a terminal development project
- Evaluate a terminal construction cost
- Monitor and manage a terminal construction project
