General objective:

After completing this module, the student will be able to explain the continued airworthiness concepts and their importance for the safety level, and to identify the roles and responsibilities of each concerned actor in that process.

Detailed objectives:

After completing this module, the student will be able to:
- Describe the post TC (Type Certificate) activities
- Apply the Change Product Rule (CPR) to simple cases
- Explain what a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) is and define the specific associated constraints
- Describe the continued airworthiness process (manufacturer’s and authority’s sides)
- Define what an Airworthiness Directive (AD) is, describe its contents and explain the AD adoption/modification process
- Describe how events are analyzed and investigated
- Apply ICAO Annex 13 principles to simple cases
- Illustrate how the safety level may be increased (operator’s and manufacturer
