Objectives

General objective:

At the end of this course, the student will be able to identify the main avionic systems and their cockpit interface on board a modern airliner.

Detailed objectives:

At the end of this course, the student will be able to:

Describe the typical mission of a modern airliner identifying the main operational drivers to be considered in cockpit design
Describe the typical configuration of a modern airliner identifying its main systems
Describe the typical flight crew of a modern airliner explaining the different roles and tasks.
Identify the certification rules applicable to cockpit design
Describe general cockpit layout
Identify the crew interfaces related to flight control and engine control and explain their operational principles
Identify the crew interfaces related to automatic flight and explain their operational principles
Describe the main indicating systems and the different display configurations in a modern airliner
