Objectives

General objective:

At the end of this course, the student will be able to define the notion of "avionic system" and to identify the main avionic systems and their cockpit interface on board a modern air transport aircraft

Detailed objectives:

- Use a standard vocabulary
- Explain the meaning of "avionic system", "cockpit", and the terms "function", "interface" (input, output), "HMI"
- Explain the role of avionic systems in air transport
- Classify the avionic systems according to their function
- Describe the design constraints of avionics systems
- Describe the cockpits evolution : pilot interfaces - controls and displays
- Describe the flight control systems, guidance systems and their HMI
