EA4004 - Airport Design and Planning

Objectives

General objective:

At the end of the course, the student shall be able to:
- specify all component of an airport system,
-describe its funtionning and the relations between the different components.

Detailed objectives:

At the end of the course, the student shall be able to:
<ul><li> identify and, based on a given reference documentation, correctly assess and specify the following airport infrastructures taking into account forecast traffic and local conditions:</li><li class="ql-indent-1"> Movement areas and associated protections,</li><li class="ql-indent-1"> Helistations,</li><li class="ql-indent-1"> Airport Buildings.</li><li> explain the safety objectives of the constitutive elements of a movement area,</li><li> identify the factors influencing airport capacity,</li><li> criticise a traffic forecast.</li></ul>
