MA5050 - Deterministic Global Optimization

MA5050 - Deterministic Global Optimization

Objectives

General objective:

Students will acquire knowledge in:

the modeling of real problems in the form of global optimization (GO) problems (continuous or mixed integer)
the main deterministic OG methods
the main OG software packages

Detailed objectives:

At the end of this course, students will be able to :

Recognize and model real problems as GO problems
Identify GO methods adapted to the problem studied, arguing for the choice of a deterministic or stochastic approach
Apply the chosen methods and critically analyze the obtained results.

Position in the programme

Base of numerical and combinatoric optimisation
