RG5020 - SMS in Manufacturing, Operations and Maintenance

Objectives

General objective:

At the end of this course, the student shall be able to present the aircraft safety oversight system through the Safety Management System (SMS):
- explain and justify system safety assurances
- lead a safety analysis in general
- plan system safety assurance case
- apply and justify regulatories requirements to maintain safety in time (Annex 19)
- explain how to use the SMS as an effective management tool for safety performance and productivity
- use risk management tools to continuously improve safety performance

Detailed objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify significant hazards
- Analyse the risk posed by significant hazards (give a risk level)
- identify organizational solutions to make risk acceptable all along the time
