NA402E - Introduction to GNSS and its evolutions

Objectives

General objective:

The objective of this class is to introduce the principles of satellite-based navigation systems, the structure of a GNSS, the structure of the GNSS signals and the associated receiver, the performance measure of the GNSS positioning accuracy, and foreseen worldwide evolution of GNSS. The course will take as the main example the current GPS. The class is complemented by seminars given by recognized experts in dedicated areas (timing reference, terrestrial reference frames, atmospheric effect). This class provides the fundamentals for all the following courses related to GNSS.
