CA228 - BASIC TWR practical training
Objectives
General objective:
The trainee will provide the control, information and alerting services on an airport with no instrument procedure, with VFR and IFR operations in VMC.
Detailed objectives:
1 - The student will be able to read, fill in, process the strip taking into account the following items : Callsign, type of aircraft, departure or destination location indicators, take off or landing time, runway in use, flight level, route, coordination, flight type (arrival, departure or transit).
2 - The student will be able to organise the strips on a board in a pre-defined order and update them according to the situation.
3 - The student will be able to fully use the approved phraseology.
4 - The student will be able to call the local reporting office in order to report the take off time of a VFR with flight plan and respond to this same office requests concerning a specific flight.
5 - The student will be able to use all the different tools of the working station.
6 - The student will be able to use the geographical data of his surroundings and the procedures related to his airfield.
7 - The student will be able to process a piece of information received from the weather office.
8 - The student will be able to manage moving vehicles and taxiing aircraft simultaneously on the movement area.
9 - The student will be able to manage the aircraft in the aerodrome circuit.
10 - The student will be able to issue simple traffic information to airborne aircraft.
11 - The student will be able to take in account the aircraft performances used during simulation exercices.
