Objectives

General objective:

The student shall develop the level of English required for his/her career.

Detailed objectives:

Obtain a broader linguistic culture on which to base language learning acquisition.
- Obtain the necessary language skills in order to become and remain an efficient and autonomous learner
- Practise skills through task based activities in the domain of professional communications.
Priority themes:
Ø Asking for and exchanging essential information correctly
Ø Making travel arrangements, booking accommodation,etc
Ø Making enquiries/appointments/organising meetings

During semester 3 the student will :
1. develop comprehension of authentic spoken English by telephone/videoconference/teleconference and radiotelephony from various English speaking backgrounds.
2. develop fluency and interaction on the telephone, during video and teleconferences and on ATC frequency.
3. develop correct, clear expression when using the telephone or the frequency in the following domains of English :
3.1 vocabulary used in common, concrete work related situations
3.2 pronunciation and stress
3.3 structure
