Objectifs

Objectif général :

The goal of this project is to study the capacity of a satellite telecommunication system based on several design constraints

Capacity is defined as the total transmitted data rate in bits per second (bps).

The considered satcom system is based on code division multiple access, which is usually limited by the number of users sharing the same frequency band.

The student will therefore compute both a thermal link budget and an interference budget to determine the maximum capacity of the satcom system.

Objectifs détaillés :

–Understand the methodology to dimension a satcom system
–Use the link budget equation to validate a satcom link
–Understand the sources of interferences in a spotbeam satellite system
