AV5002E - Systèmes CNS de bord

AV5002E - Systèmes CNS de bord

Objectifs

Objectif général :

At the end of this course, the student will be able to:

describe the functionalities and architecture of onboard CNS systems,
explain operational concepts like FANS or PBN and describe the onboard functionalities related to these concepts.

Objectifs détaillés :

At the end of this course, the student will be able to:

• Explain the relationship between onboard equipment and ATM operational concepts, providing some examples

• For Surveillance Systems:

Explain what is meant by airborne surveillance and safety nets
Explain the working principle and describe the architecture and HMI of the following systems/functions: TAWS, TCAS, weather radar, transponder and ADS-B

• For Communications Systems:

Explain the different communication needs in an aircraft (cockpit and cabin) and the different communication domains
Identify the different communications means in an aircraft: VHF, HF, SATCOM… and their use
Describe the architecture and HMI of cockpit communication systems

• FANS concept:

Explain the specificities of FANS 1/A and FANS B (ATN B1): operational context, communication networks, applications…
Explain the working principle of CPDLC and ADS-C applications

• PBN concept:

Explain PBN concept and its three components: specifications (RNAV and RNP), infrastructure and applications.
Explain the requirements for onboard equipment to perform PBN operations.
Identify the different types of PBN approaches and the sensors used to fly these approaches

• Identify the design constraint and applicable standards to be considered in the in the design of on board CNS systems/functions
