RG405E - Aircraft certification

Objectifs

Objectif général :

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to present the aircraft safety system through the applicable regulations and airworthiness principles.

Objectifs détaillés :

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Define the safety objectives and describe the regulatory means to reach and maintain this level of safety

- Present the main principles of the Chicago Convention, including the ICAO standards and recommended practices
- Describe the EASA scope of competencies, and the EU/EASA regulatory structure (basic regulation, Parts, CS, AMC/GM)
- Quote the applicable international standards (ICAO) and the applicable European regulations / decisions, for airworthiness and associated domains

- Remind the general principles laid down by ICAO, and quote the main applicable requirements (with a focus on EASA Part 21), for designing and manufacturing a product
- Explain what the DOA and POA are, and describe the associated constraints (EU system, equivalencies in other countries)
- Describe the type certification / validation process
- Describe the production / conformity process (up to the delivery of a certificate of airworthiness)

- Apply these principles to simple case studies
