Objectifs
Objectif général :
Upon completion of this course, the student shall be able to apply the basic principles for designing the various type of aircraft engines and their associated systems, and thus to determine the main requirements for the certification of engines and powerplant.
Objectifs détaillés :
Upon completion of this course, the student shall be able to:
- Describe the main architectures and components of propulsion systems (turbofan, turboprop, gas turbines), their control systems, and their interactions with the aircraft
- Describe the principles of the integration of a propulsion system onto the aircraft, the systems involved and their modes of failure
- Quote and interpret the certification requirements and means of compliance applicable to the propulsion systems and their integration onto the aircraft
- Improve, in autonomy, his/her knowledge of the regulatory certification texts applicable to engines and powerplant systems
