Objectives

General objective:

After completing this module, the student/applicant will be able to analyse stakes of the safety in the air transport system and explain the need for a systemic approach to safety management.

Detailed objectives:

After completing this module, the student/applicant will be able to:
• Understanding the evolution of aviation safety over the past decades
• Describe the air transport chain with its different actors and analyse their interfaces
• Justify the need for a systems approach to safety management, including the necessary organizational structure, responsibilities, policies and procedures.
• Analysing the economic impact of security
• Describe the principles and elements of a Safety Management System (SMS) and SSP (State Safety Program)
• Present a roadmap to implement SMS and SSP
• Have a critical view of the SMS approach, with a view to improve it
