Presentation
Presentation
The Masters in Human Computer Interaction is a joint degree organised by Paul Sabatier University (Toulouse 3) and the ENAC (École Nationale de l'Aviation Civile - French School of Civil Aviation). This course trains high-level professional specialists in the design and development of interactive applications, with an understanding of IT techniques and human performance.
HMI Master graduates are able to:
- Manage the "user-based" development of interactive software.
- Define and apply standards in terms of formats and usability.
- Assess the ergonomics and usability of software.
Master’s modules round off initial training in IT and provide specific skills in the field:
- Technological skills: understanding of the tools and techniques used in New Information and Communication Technologies (NICT).
- Method-based skills: software engineering, development process management and project management methods in the context of the development of interactive software.
- Integrating human performance considerations in the design of human-machine interfaces: human engineering, cognitive psychology, experimental psychology, ensuring our graduates can produce human-friendly software with a high level of usability.
Objectives
The content of the second year's courses enables students to acquire all the knowledge and skills necessary for careers in human-computer interaction.
During this year, students are trained in human factors, interactive systems techniques and technologies, scientific research, and experimentation and evaluation methods.
Students are also trained in prototyping and interface design, enabling them to take on key roles within multidisciplinary teams upon completion of the master's degree.
Students are required to put what they have learned into practice throughout the year with their masterpiece, a project proposed by a company or laboratory, as well as at the end of the program during a 4- to 6-month internship in a company or laboratory.
Additional information
The Master's in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) trains high-level professionals who specialize in the design and development of interactive applications and have mastered techniques specific to computer science and those derived from the field of human factors.
The Master's in HCI provides in-depth knowledge in the field of software engineering, complementing that acquired in a bachelor's degree in computer science (prerequisite).
This program lasts two years:
- The first year is a course with a core curriculum shared with the Master's in Computer Science at Paul Sabatier University (Toulouse 3).
- The second year of the Master's is jointly accredited with the French National Civil Aviation School (ENAC).
